The violoncellist (32 cm x 43 cm)
"Le Violoncelliste" matches the concept of cubism and the golden section with each other.
Constructing within a strictly defined space only allows lines, forms and directions to converge on the essential points : the instrument, the gesture, the resulting sound.
From the original bronze sculpture, it was reproduced in 1990 as a low relief. That mutation was carried out thanks to the technique of calcium deposit : That matter slowly formed by deep spring water gets valuable.
The subtly graded element of calcium give that low-pitched music some warmth which lightens its harshness.
