Artist Jean Fontvielle was inspired by nature. Fascinated by geology, he used to teach modelling, worked with clay then with plaster which he colored with pigments and varnished : his artworks may be defined as mock-abstract and organic.
“Those creations result from a special technique : the negative cast was made directly out of clay, then plaster was poured into that cast. After removing the clay, the artist obtained a unique positive matrix.
That process allows active research on contrasting matters ».
