Vercingétorix (21,5 cm x 24,5 cm)

Dimension: 21,5 x 24,5 cm

Reproduction of the bronze equestrian statue of Vercingétorix, a Gaul hero, made by French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904) and erected on Place de Jaude in Clermont-Ferrand in 1903.

The original matrix of that low-relief was made by fine stone engraver Charles-Frédéric Becker in 1887, some 16 years before the statue was unveiled in Clermont-Ferrand.

Becker was inspired by Bartholdi’s model sculpted in 1869, and now exhibited at Bartholdi Museum in Colmar.
